Work

Yesterday afternoon I got to work and found out that the closing CSM quit yesterday morning. What happened to 2 week notices? I don't close, I only work as late as 11:00 pm. I can rush and get everything, meaning the CSM duties, done by 11:00 and then management has to be available to come up front if the cashiers need anything. It's just very difficult on a Friday and Saturday night to be the only CSM, because we are busy and a single CSM is running constantly and usually in three directions at once.

I am also alone tonight and I get out at 10:00. I haven't figured out how I am going to do this. There is no way I can get the registers pulled by 10:00. I can get the front ones but not the outlying and the self checks, they can't even be pulled until 10:00. I'm hoping that management has called one of the other night CSMs to come in and help.

Wish me luck.

Just do the best you can and realize that it is not your problem, really. Of course mgmt might not see it that way.

Thank you, Mae and Robin.

The night went well, they had called in another CSM to close, she came in at 7:30, and my manager actually listened to me and we have a CSM helper. He works until closing and has been helping with the closing CSM duties for awhile so he knows them. Now, he has supervisor numbers so that he can fill in where needed and actually help the cashiers if they need change or an override and the CSM isn't available.

Hope everything worked out well for you. I know it's difficult when someone just walks off the job, but no one is really required to give two week notice. Those that do offer the notice are the ones with good work ethic.

I Have left jobs without giving a notice. Hey , when they decide to let you go, do they say your fired, you have two weeks to get out of here?
